Idag lever över 220 miljoner barn i världen under extremt utsatta förhållanden. Det är ett av tio barn som helt saknar, eller riskerar att förlora, den grundläggande omsorgen av en förälder. Dessa barn glöms alltför ofta bort av myndigheter och blir osynliga för vuxenvärlden. Många löper stor risk att utsättas för övergrepp, utnyttjas som barnsoldater eller tvingas in i prostitution och trafficking.
SOS Barnbyar är en av världens största aktörer inom social omvårdnad av barn. Vi finns i 135 länder världen över och samarbetar med myndigheter, organisationer och beslutsfattare för att lokalisera och hjälpa barn och familjer genom långsiktiga och individanpassade insatser.
Med hjälp av våra familjestärkande program, barnbyar, skolor och medicinkliniker ger vi barn de förutsättningar som krävs för att de ska kunna växa upp till trygga vuxna. Genom att stötta dem bryter vi fattigdomsspiralen och bidrar till en hållbar framtid.
